1、After having lived for over twenty years in the same district, Albert Hall was forced to move to a new neighborhood. He surprised his landlord by telling him that he was leaving because he could not afford to buy any more chocolate.

It all began a year ago when Albert returned home one evening and found a large dog in front of his gate. He was very fond of animals and as he happened to have a  *** all piece of chocolate in his pocket, he gave it to the dog. The next day, the dog was there again. Many newcomers to the States will miss the opening courtesy of a business call, for example, they will miss the ritual socializing that goes with a welcoming cup of tea or coffee that may be traditional in their own country. They may miss leisurely business chats in a café or coffeehouse. Normally, Americans do not assess their visitors in such relaxed surroundings over prolonged  *** all talks. Since we generally assess and probe professionally rather than socially, we start talking business very quickly.

全国英语等级考试二级及格标准？

全国英语等级考试合格标准：笔试成绩是听力、英语知识运用、阅读理解和写作部分成绩的总和，满分100分，60分以上(含60分)为合格。口试满分5分，3分(含3分)以上为合格。关于PETS成绩划分及保留：笔试采用百分制，60分以上为及格;口试采用5级分制，3分以上为及格。根据教育部考试中心[2002]125号文件精神， PETS单项合格成绩可以保留到相邻的下一考次。

考生报名时可以自己决定是报单项(笔试、口试)或两项都报，一次考试或相邻两次考试中，笔试、口试都合格者，教育部考试中心将核发《合格证书》。跨考次的成绩将不予保留。要保留的成绩只能相同级别的考试。
